The International Basket Brigade is a 100% volunteer-driven initiative dedicated to providing baskets filled with food and essential household items to families in need. Our mission is simple yet impactful: one small act of kindness from a caring person can transform lives. Over the years, our brigade has grown, and we set new goals each year to expand our reach and deepen our impact. At the heart of our work, we turn financial donations into thoughtfully prepared baskets to fulfill our commitment to families in the Houston community. Can I get a basket? The spirit of the basket brigade is to deliver these gifts anonymously.  We work with local organizations like churches and public schools to help identify families that will receive your baskets. Make sure to find out the family size and any known health restrictions. Hold community donation drives to gather food and household items.  Historically our list of those in need has exceeded the number of baskets we have to give and therefore we simply don't have enough baskets to give to everyone that asks.  If you are in need we can add you to our *overflow list - go the requests page* How do I donate? Donations of money and time help us provide Thanksgiving food baskets for Houston families. **Donate:** Visit our [donation page](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/donate) for current giving options. **Volunteer:** The 2026 basket build is Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM CST at Houston Texans YMCA, 5202 Griggs Road, Houston, TX 77021. [Sign up to volunteer](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/volunteer/). To help with leadership, logistics, or content, or to coordinate an in-kind donation, [contact our team](mailto:info@htxbasketbrigade.com) in advance. Is HTX Basket Brigade a 501(c)(3) nonprofit? Yes. HTX Basket Brigade is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization (EIN: 43-2182123). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We are 100% volunteer-run, bringing our community together to provide Thanksgiving meals for Houston families in need. You can donate directly to HTX Basket Brigade through our [donation page](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/donate). How can I help before the delivery day? We need people to help us look for outreach, organize and most of all promote the event.  Helping people is contagious and the more you help us spread the word the more impact we have in the community.    SHARE OUR SOCIAL MEDIA \- Instagram and Facebook are our main platforms   If you are a wizard at social media content please reach out!  What about parking? There is a huge free parking lot. What's usually in a basket This post has what we normally try to procure for each of the beneficiaries it changes from year to year because of what we can buy in bulk and get discounted and what we can't but in it's spirit here is what is in a basket [https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/htxbasketbrigade/whats-in-a-basket](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/htxbasketbrigade/whats-in-a-basket)     Can I drop things off to you? **We truly appreciate your generosity and desire to help!** Please know that our core planning team is very small, and each of us manages this project alongside full-time work. To keep the event running smoothly, we ask for your support in the following ways: - **If you’re bringing individual items:** please arrive a few minutes before the official start time on build day. Since we work from a tightly organized system with pre-purchased supplies, your contributions may be treated as add-ons rather than central items. This helps us avoid last-minute disruptions in the build process. - **If you’re providing pre-assembled baskets:** we have a partner who coordinates those separately. We ask that all pre-assembled baskets be delivered **no later than the Wednesday before the event** so they can be directed appropriately. Your cooperation allows us to stay focused on building and delivering baskets efficiently while still honoring the generosity of everyone who contributes. Thank you for helping us make this event a success for Houston families! Is the event kid friendly? Absolutely, look at the previous years pictures.  ## Get in touch   [facebook-f icon](https://www.facebook.com/HtownBasketBrigade) [linkedin-in icon](https://www.linkedin.com/company/basket-brigade-houston/) [instagram icon](https://www.instagram.com/htxbasketbrigade/) [Follow us on Facebook](https://x.com/htxbasket) [Follow us on Facebook](https://www.linkedin.com/company/basket-brigade-houston) - [Home](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com) - [About](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/about) - [FAQ](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/contact-0) - [Contact](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/contact) - [Requests](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/requests-1) - [Pictures by year](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/media) --- [![](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/hs-fs/hubfs/20201119_115719777_iOS.jpg?width=75&height=75&name=20201119_115719777_iOS.jpg)](https://www.htxbasketbrigade.com/) 2339 Commerce St, Houston, TX 77002 suite 175 Copyright © 2026, HTXBasketBrigade
