Every year around Thanksgiving, the HTX Basket Brigade comes together with one simple mission — to make sure Houston families in need feel seen, supported, and loved during the holiday season. What started as a handful of friends delivering meals has now become a city-wide movement, powered by volunteers, schools, and organizations that believe in giving back.

When we look back at those first years — stacking baskets in driveways, loading cars in the early morning, and learning as we went — it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come. Today, we have hundreds of volunteers, community partners, and local teams that rally behind this cause, helping us reach more families than ever before.

Each year has its own story. We’ve grown not just in numbers, but in spirit. We’ve seen kids who once received a basket come back as volunteers. We’ve seen businesses step up to sponsor entire neighborhoods. We’ve seen our volunteers become family to each other — sharing laughter, hugs, and sometimes tears as they deliver hope door to door.

Our goal this year is to reach 600 families, and we know that with your continued support, we can get there — and beyond. Growth isn’t just about the number of baskets we give; it’s about the number of hearts we touch. Every Venmo donation, every IKEA bag filled with food, every volunteer who shows up makes this mission stronger.
