Whether you’re joining with friends, family, or colleagues, HTX Basket Brigade’s Build Day is designed to welcome groups and help them work side by side to achieve a common goal: providing Thanksgiving meals for families in need. The experience of packing baskets, organizing supplies, and sharing in the rewarding work of giving back creates memories that groups will share for years to come. > **"When groups come together for HTX Basket Brigade, there’s an immediate sense of unity,"** says Liz Coleman, Basket Brigade Leadership. **"You can feel the energy in the room, and it becomes clear that everyone is working toward something greater than themselves."** Through this shared experience, group members forge stronger connections and build a foundation of teamwork that can translate into other areas of their lives, be it at work, school, or within their community. ### Increasing Efficiency and Impact One of the greatest advantages of group volunteering is the efficiency it brings to events like HTX Basket Brigade’s Build Day. By volunteering together, groups can cover more ground, from sorting food items to packing baskets and assisting with logistical tasks. Each member can take on specific responsibilities, making the entire process smoother and more efficient. In fact, HTX Basket Brigade counts on group participation to help make sure every family is served with care and that baskets are packed and ready in time for delivery. With more hands on deck, groups enable HTX Basket Brigade to reach more families. Each basket packed, each item sorted, and each task completed as part of a team has a multiplying effect, allowing the brigade to help a larger number of families enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal. ### Creating a Positive Group Culture Group volunteering also helps create a culture of generosity and compassion. For businesses, joining HTX Basket Brigade as a team-building event is a chance to foster positive values and promote a culture of giving back. Employees who participate together often report increased morale and a sense of pride in contributing to a meaningful cause. This kind of volunteering isn’t just about getting tasks done—it’s about creating a spirit of support and unity that participants carry with them well beyond the event. For schools, youth groups, and community organizations, HTX Basket Brigade offers a perfect platform for teaching valuable lessons about community service and the power of teamwork. ### Amplifying the Joy of Giving Back There’s something uniquely fulfilling about giving back as a group. Volunteering with HTX Basket Brigade provides a chance for everyone to experience the joy of giving, knowing their collective efforts are making a difference. From the shared laughter to the moments of reflection, each group’s contribution is woven into the HTX Basket Brigade mission. When people gather to volunteer as a team, they become part of something larger than themselves. Every basket packed and every can sorted directly impacts families in Houston, bringing a sense of pride and fulfillment to the entire group. ### How to Get Involved as a Group Joining HTX Basket Brigade as a group is simple.
